Nominations for the 52th Annual Grammy Awards were announced last night and let’s just say the nominees did not come off as a surprise.
After the release of yet another successful album, R&B artist Beyonce leads in Grammy nominations with 10, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B Song and the coveted Album of the Year for the multi-platinum selling I Am…Sasha Fierce.
Taylor Swift, who has definitely come into her own this year, comes in second with eight nods. The Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West and Maxwell (who had an incredible comeback) each garnered six.
Last year’s Album of the Year shocking win went to Jazz legend, Herbie Hancock.
This year, Beyonce will be going head to head with the Black Eyed Peas (The E.N.D.), Lady Gaga (The Fame), Taylor Swift (Fearless) and Dave Matthews Band (Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King), all of which has had a phenomenal year.
So who will come out victorious and who will leave empty-handed?
The 52th Annual Grammy Awards is set to air in January 2010.
